For my senior thesis at Emmanuel College, I spent a year designing a brewery called Apricity Brewing.

Can design is arguably the important part of beer identity. That’s why I wanted to design a brewery with a focus around the art as well as the beer, and give credit where credit is due.

Each beer that was designed has an illustration relative to the name, and a description of how the name directly ties into the style of beer. I spent a lot of my time as an intern at Lamplighter Brewing learning about brewing processes and styles of craft beer to ensure accuracy with this.

Two of the beers were developed to be charity brews that give back to the community. The slogan for Apricity was “a feel-good beer”, so I wanted consumers to feel good about where there money was going as well as feel good when they would drink it.

Apricity is, by definition, "the warmth of the sun; basking in the sun." After researching different name choices for weeks, and making the connection that I wanted my brewery to consist of feel-good beers that make you feel warm inside, I ended up here. I also spent a lot of time developing this during the winter in Boston, and realized how many people turn to beer during this time to warm them up instead of the sun.
